Job Description:
Our plastic products manufacturing client is currently seeking a
Process Engineer for their facility in the Eau Claire, WI area.
They would like someone who has a solid understanding of plastics
manufacturing and they highly prefer someone has blown film/MDO
process experience. Full relocation is being offered and this is a

extensive growth opportunities. This job will have the following
responsibilities:Plant champion/expert for a new in line process
designed to enhance film properties.
Own the process and be the plant resource to understand the
operation and train all involved in the safe efficient operation of
the equipment.Standardize plant operations with the goal of
minimizing process yield loss and providing exceptional quality
products and services Develop and maintain manufacturing
specifications Led effort to identify potential step changes to
improve overall operations Train and develop employees to assure
operational flexibility and responsiveness, and increase technical
knowledge Support the Product Development group with product
improvement projects, includes managing the commercial trial
process Identify, prioritize, coordinate and monitor process
improvements for the plant with waste reduction, throughput
improvement, and quality enhancement as prioritiesTake lead for
documenting process improvements and new operating directivesManage
expenditures related to project assignments Maintain safety,
product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily
troubleshooting and resolution of Process difficulties Provide
business case for process improvement Obtain and advise estimated
scope of proposed projects Ensure that all improvement projects
meet Company/OSHA safety requirements including careful attention
to management of change process Work closely with division quality
group to ensure that all quality policies and procedures are
followed Ensure that products leaving the plant meet customer
specificationsSupervise three direct reportsManage Process On-Call
rotationSafety Responsibilities:Accountable for the safety of all
employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement
in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication
of safe work expectations.Supports and investigates situations in
which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent
safety risk.Completes responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and procedures, and applicable lawsActively
leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility
by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to
eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.Lead all
required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change
Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)Completes
incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements
corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned
employees for whom they are responsible. Sets goals for their
organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees
understand and work toward achieving goals.Motivates and coaches
employees through good communication and frequent performance
feedback.
Identifies and coordinates additional training as
needed.Qualifications & Requirements:BS Engineering degree or
equivalent experienceFive years of progressive engineering
experience preferredUnderstanding of resins (PE, PA,EVOH)Experience
with MDO/Blown Film processing preferredWeb handling and Plastics
extrusion experience Experience in an continuous operation
manufacturing facility Working knowledge and troubleshooting PLC's
AutoCAD skills Degree in either Plastics or Chemical Engineering
Experience in continuous improvement processes (Six Sigma, TPS,
Lean) Experience with advanced process controlsAbility to manage
several projects and changing prioritiesExposure to manufacturing
facilities safety and quality programs Proven ability to plan,
organize and execute projects Demonstrated ability to build and
achieve results through collaborative relationships Demonstrated
ability to analyze data and translate findings for operational
improvements - including SPC Demonstrated ability to standardize
and document a process Strong computer skills including data
collection, analysis, and report writing Strong presentation skills
both internally and externallyMust be innovative and adaptable
