Job Description Job Description Industrial Protection Devices is
seeking motivated technicians located in Iowa and Minnesota only
with mechatronics skills to provide the highest quality
inspections, maintenance, and training services to our clients with
respect to the Company manufactured explosion suppression,
isolation and venting technology. This position requires basic
understanding of low voltage electromechanical industrial systems
and circuits. Also, Performs final inspections on products that are
applied in the field and gives occasional support to the
manufacturing team when not traveling. Full intensive training is
provided. Frequent travel (up to 75%) within USA, Canada and
Mexico. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform required service including
training of customer personnel. All work is performed as
efficiently as possible. All work is performed at the highest level
of quality possible. All employees are working in the most
productive manner possible. All employees are on-time for the work
they are assigned and must fit agreed customer schedules. All tools
are properly maintained and accounted for. All overtime worked is
necessary to meet schedules. All employees understand and follow
all company policies and procedures. Support database of inspection
and maintenance activities. Contact the customer and provide a
quote of services required. Upon receipt of purchase order from
customer, arrange service. Travel to customer location – domestic
or overseas. Complete necessary forms as required by work
instructions. Complete billing worksheet and submit to the Field
Service Manager. File completed forms. Provide assistance as
required to the field service manager, production employees and
customers on troubleshooting of equipment problems. Responsible for
performing final inspection on all products in the field. Maintain
checklists on final inspection criteria for all products inspected.
Perform final inspection, completing checklist. Resolve all quality
issues with production. File checklist. Provide any training
required to production employees to eliminate quality issues
discovered during the inspection. Responsible for maintaining an
accurate inventory for field service components. Responsible to
ensure that all inventory items are properly accounted for or were
billed to the customer. Responsible for answering and responding to
all after-hours emergency calls from customers. Works with the
production team to perform the final inspection of products. Works
with the Finance department on field service billing issues.
Provides assistance to production as requested. Works with
customers on scheduling inspection, maintenance and on resolving
technical issues in liaison with engineering department. ESSENTIAL
REQUIREMENTS: Fluent written and spoken English Excellent technical
aptitude Experience of dealing with customers and managing
expectations Excellent communication skills and presentations
skills Problem solver OTHER FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties as
assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: Trade School Certificate or
associates’ degree (Technical). Experience: Two (2) plus years of
experience in Field Service, of industrial products that include
low voltage electrical circuits. Greater experience an advantage.
Language Skills: Fluent English (written and spoken). Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities: Basic understanding of low voltage
electromechanical industrial systems, proficient in MS Office 365
software, especially MS Excel, excellent oral/written communication
skills, well developed presentation skills, excellent customer
relations skills, and the availability to travel (including to
Mexico and Canada from time to time) at least 75% of the time.
Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Ability to read, analyze, and
interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond
effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability
to lift up to fifty pounds (50lbs)/23 kilos (23kgs). Frequently
needs to talk and hear. Occasionally climbs vertical heights (up to
200 feet), stands, walks and sits, as well as using hands to touch
or feel, and arms to reach. Working Conditions: customer industrial
plant conditions (outdoor and indoor) and occasional general
office. High to Moderate noise levels (examples: business office
with computers and printers, light traffic and process facilities
with environmental conditions; heat, steam, chemicals, pressures,
noise, etc.). May work at heights or in confined spaces. Employees
must submit a BATF clearance form at time of employment; acceptance
by the BATF is a condition of employment. Equipment/Tools Used:
Must be proficient in the use of general mechanical and electrical
(low voltage) tools. Must possess the ability to learn the IT
software and hardware system and work with company enterprise
software. Will use office equipment such as telephones,
scanner/photocopier, projector, etc. Use of Mechanical Tools.

appraisal. Customer specific training will be required along with
